CHAMP'S CAMP EPISODE 5

Mountain Day - Lift Each Other Up

The campers are ready for their next big adventure—and this time, they're heading up!

Led by Scout the Big Foot, the group sets off through the woods toward a mountain climbing spot where Summit the Yeti will show them the ropes. Momo the Panda and Sammy the Sloth are excited to take on the challenge, but Rusty the Fox isn't so sure. The higher they go, the bigger his worries become.

Luckily, Rusty has something even more important than climbing experience on his side: a group of friends who always have his back. Because sometimes, the best way to reach new heights is to lift each other up!

The Long Trail to the Top

Scout takes the lead, walking stick in hand, as the campers make their way through the woods. The trail winds between the trees, over rocks, and up gentle slopes as the group nears their climbing destination.

Momo and Sammy are having a great time, enjoying the adventure and imagining what it will be like to reach the top. But Rusty isn't quite as excited. He trails behind the group, wondering what happens if he can't make it up the mountain.

"Don't worry, Rusty!" Momo calls back. "It won't be that hard!"

Sammy agrees, offering a little encouragement of his own, but Rusty's worries aren't so easy to shake. He's afraid of slipping, afraid of falling, and especially afraid of letting his friends down.

Still, his friends keep moving beside him. They may not be able to make his worries disappear, but they're making sure he doesn't face them alone.

Trust Is the Key

At last, the campers reach the climbing area, and Summit is ready to teach them the ropes—literally!

Scout and Summit demonstrate how climbers use ropes, communicate with their team, and trust one another along the way. Summit explains that climbing isn't about being the fastest or strongest. It's about paying attention, working together, and knowing your friends are there when you need them.

When everyone communicates, trusts their teammates, and works together, even a steep mountain doesn't seem quite so scary.

Rusty watches carefully from below. He wants to be brave enough to try, but the mountain still looks awfully tall.

A Little Help Goes a Long Way

Rusty finally admits what he's been thinking: maybe he'd rather stay on the ground and watch everyone else have their turn.

"No way!" says Sammy. "You're our friend, and we aren't leaving you behind. We can find a way!"

Then Momo has an idea. "What if you climb on our shoulders? That could work!"

Feeling lifted by his friends' support—and not wanting to let their confidence in him go to waste—Rusty puffs out his chest.

"Okay," he says. "Let's give it a try!"

Momo becomes the strong foundation, steady as a rock. Sammy climbs onto his shoulders, ready for Rusty.

"Okay, we're ready for you, Rusty. You can do it!"

Above them, Summit hangs over the edge, ready to help. "Remember, Rusty, it's not a race. Take your time. Make your movements slow, deliberate, and precise, and you'll be fine."

Rusty carefully climbs over Momo. Sammy reaches out and helps him onto his shoulders. Feeling the strength and stability of his friends gives Rusty a whole new kind of confidence.

But there's just one problem: they're still not quite high enough.

Rusty stretches as far as he can, but Summit's hand is just out of reach.

For a moment, Rusty freezes. His friends have gotten him this far. Now, he has to take the final step himself.

He takes a deep breath, gathers every bit of courage he can find, and reaches.

"Gotcha!" Summit cheers, grabbing Rusty's paw.

With Summit's secure grip, Rusty finds the confidence to pull himself the rest of the way up.

"You did it, Rusty!"

The Campers Celebrating with Rusty

Rusty made it to the top, but instead of feeling proud, he wonders if he really earned it. After all, his friends literally lifted him along the way. But his friends see it differently. They celebrate that Rusty faced his fear, trusted them, and found the courage to keep going.

Sammy reminds Rusty that everyone needs a little help sometimes. Earlier this summer, Rusty helped Sammy discover that he didn't need to swim to enjoy the lake. Now, dangling his claws in the cool water from the dock is one of Sammy's favorite things to do.

Scout has a story, too. Rusty helped him practice reading so he could enjoy Rusty's comic book collection, and he's nearly finished with the whole series! Rusty realizes that just because he needed help today doesn't mean he's any less of a friend—he's been lifting his friends up all summer, too.

Rusty looks around at his friends and finally understands: getting help doesn't make you weak. Sometimes, letting your friends lift you up is part of being strong.

Everyone needs a little help sometimes. Sometimes it's an encouraging word when you're feeling low. Sometimes it's a helping paw when a challenge feels too big. And sometimes, it's quite literally standing on your friends' shoulders!

At Champ's Camp, the campers know that no one has to tackle life's biggest challenges alone. Good friends have your back, no matter how tall the ask may be.
