Since 1981, the heart and soul of Vermont Teddy Bear have been nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont. As we celebrate 45 years of handcrafting teddy bears and beloved characters in our Shelburne factory, we find ourselves reflecting on the joy, beauty, and inspiration this remarkable place has given us.

Rooted in Something Special

Tucked among quiet forests and changing seasons, we learned the value of slowing down, crafting with care, and putting true intention into every stitch. To this day, those lessons guide everything we create. Every teddy bear is thoughtfully made, carrying with it the warmth, tradition, and quiet beauty of Vermont. When you hold one, you’re holding more than a keepsake—you’re holding a small piece of these mountains, made with love and meant to last.

In honor of such a momentous anniversary, we wanted to create something that encompasses not just our history, but the place that made it all possible.That idea became the 20” Limited Edition 45th Anniversary Bear—a tribute to the land we love and the legacy we’ve built together.

Handcrafted in Vermont, his custom-dyed fur features a rich mountain green—deep, vibrant, and full of life, just like the peaks that surround us. His glowing green eyes reflect that same quiet strength and natural beauty.

Every detail is thoughtfully designed to capture the spirit of Vermont.

Look closely at his paw pads, and you’ll find watercolor illustrations of the Green Mountains themselves—including the iconic view of Camel’s Hump, just as we see it from our Shelburne factory.

It’s a small detail, but one that carries a whole landscape of meaning.
